What is Nasal Wash? Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of saline nasal wash?

A fair amount of nasal mucus production is normal in the nose. Allergies and infections will lead to too much mucus production. This will result in nasal symptoms such as runny nose and nasal congestion. By nasal wash you can remove allergy-causing pollen, dust particles from nasal mucosa and thus can reduce the inflammation of the mucus membranes. Normal mucosa is more resistant to infection and allergy symptoms subside.

Nasal wash can be done at any time of the day. However, if applied at night, solution might drip from the nostrils so applying one or two hours before bedtime is recommended. The same situation is true before 1-2 hours leaving the house
